This historic legislation established a dedicated and permanent means for the conservation and protection of America’s irreplaceable natural, historic, cultural, and outdoor sites, including essential watersheds, open spaces, parks, trails and more.

We are hopeful that the passage of the bill into law marks a significant step forward to address the environmental contamination and public health consequences from PFAS. 

NH DES announced it will begin the planning and drafting of the CCAP at two kickoff events in September.

“We want people to get excited about turtles” says Matt Patterson. “Turtles are so important and amazing…we talk about turtles that can climb trees, and turtles that can sprint 15 miles an hour.”

Bob and Binney Wells, Hopkinton residents since 1971, have long been interested in land conservation. In 1984, they donated a conservation easement to the Forest Society that protected 119 acres in Hopkinton/Henniker. But that was just the beginning.

Ice acts as an insulator, reflecting sunlight so water at the bottom stays dark and cold. 

The project will begin in mid-May.

A community meeting will be held at the Conservation Center on Feb. 12 and the public is invited.
