Hikers ask questions and learn at an interpretive hike through a forest in Nottingham

For more than a century, the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests has worked to conserve the landscapes that define the Granite State. Together with supporters across New Hampshire, we’ve helped protect more than one million acres of forests and waters.

Conservation takes many forms—and it takes people like you.

The Forest Society protects land, stewards working forests, builds and maintains sustainable trails, and connects people to the outdoors through education and community programs. We also speak up for policies that support conservation and help forests play a vital role in addressing climate change and supporting wildlife.

Become a member, volunteer your time, support conservation legislation, or make a gift. Your involvement helps sustain healthy forests, clean water, thriving wildlife, and the places we all love to explore.

Join us—and be part of the next chapter of conservation in New Hampshire.
