Susan Ide, PhD is a scientist by training, spending the majority of her professional career in the pharmaceutical sector, focusing on clinical research to develop treatments for different types of cancer.  Susan began her career at the National Institutes of Health working on the Human Genome Project and then held various positions within Drug Development and Medical Affairs during her 25-year career at Novartis Pharmaceuticals.  She worked most recently as Director, Global Medical Affairs at BioNTech, and given her passion to improve outcomes for cancer patients, is currently uncertain whether she is retired.

Susan joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in July 2024 and began serving as the Vice Chair in January 2026.  Supporting the Littleton, NH, and surrounding communities to have access to high-quality care close to home is critically important to her.

Susan lives in Littleton with her husband Taylor, and together they enjoy all the outdoors has to offer, including trail running, skiing, hiking, and mountain biking.  Their two adult children often join in, sharing the need to be outdoors.  Susan joined the Forest Society Board of Trustees in 2026 and looks forward to integrating her scientific background into protecting and caring for New Hampshire's forests.
