In 2019, Mount Major had the dubious distinction of being named a Leave No Trace Hot Spot. Since then, we've continued to educate hikers about how to reduce impacts to the environment while enjoying the amazing natural beauty of Mount Major. Our trailhead outreach program has shared this message with more than 2,000 people since it began in 2022.
