BOARD MEMBER

Jameson (Jamey) S French is CEO of Northland Forest Products, Inc a hardwood lumber processor, exporter and distributor, headquartered in Kingston NH, but with operations in Virginia. The French family has been in the hardwood industry since the late 19th century. The family also owns Meadowsend Timberlands, LLP.

 Mr. French is currently Chair of the American Forest Foundation and immediate past Chair of the Land Trust Alliance.  He is a past Chair of the DC based Hardwood Federation and continues as chair of their policy committee. He is also Chair of Friends Forever International and Vice Chair of the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund. He is a Trustee of Amplify and of the Davis Conservation Fund.  He is a past Chair of the Quebec Labrador Foundation and of the Foundation For Seacoast Health.

He started his conservation and forestry career as an intern at SPNHF in 1975 and was a Trustee, Board Chair and Co-Chair of the Centennial Campaign in the 1990 and early 2000s. During the early 2000’s he was the chair of the Forest Stewardship Council (US Board). He is also a past Chair of the Hardwood Manufacturers Association, the American Hardwood Export Council, the New Mexico based Cottonwood Gulch Foundation and Strawbery Banke Museum.

Educated at Phillips Andover, Trinity College and the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, Jamey and his wife Priscilla live in Portsmouth and have three grown children and one grandson.
