Forest Society volunteers take pride in helping the Forest Society to achieve its dual role as both a land conservation trust and forestry organization. We protect well-managed land and we own and manage 170 permanent forest reservations totaling more than 50,000 acres of conservation land in New Hampshire.

Volunteers interact with our professional staff on discreet projects and tasks on a range of projects including land conservation, easement stewardship, LTA accreditation, membership, development, outreach education, communications, environmental policy, advocacy, forest reservation management including recreation stewardship. Our volunteers tell us the satisfaction of advancing the statewide mission of the Forest Society is their primary reward for their commitment of time to volunteer service.

Forest Society volunteers are invited to our annual volunteer appreciation day and may earn complimentary membership after one year of service. Volunteers receive a 20% discount in our Gift Shop and may obtain a free copy of Forest Notes magazine, our full-color quarterly magazine.
